Should all auld fabrics be counted
Even my pre-test stuff
Should all auld fabrics be counted
There’d surely be enough.

Enough to sew all through the year
Enough ‘til 2009
Enough even to last, my dear
Until the end of time.

I’ve got meters of corduroy
Meters of flannel, too.
And notions fair to last, my dear
I’d think, the whole year through.

And then there are needles & thread.
And also plenty ‘o zipper
Don’t forget the jar of buttons, dear
And the special sewing ripper.

Should all auld fabrics be counted
Even my pre-test stuff
