I, RHOnda, had the wonderful privilege of a one-on-one dietary tutorial that is now my delight to pass on to you… Oh, the pleasure of living in an openly sensual, French community!!
“How to Enjoy a Dark Chocolate Square”
“How to Enjoy a Dark Chocolate Square”
To get the “full” (in both senses of the word!) lesson, you will need three (3) squares of dark chocolate. RHOTO recommends 72% cocoa, as it is not as bitter as the 85%. [You can also read about--and identify with—the first two (2) squares, and go directly on to “bliss”.]
- Pop the 1st square in your mouth. Crackle & crunch it and swallow it up. That’s how we North Americans do a lot of our eating, eh…
- Pop the 2nd square in your mouth. Suck on it like a hard candy. When it gets smallish, bite it and be done with it. Still quite familiar for the majority of us…
- With the 3rd square, look at the chocolate, smell the chocolate and then slowly put it into your mouth. Now, slowly again, roll your tongue to move the square to your upper pallet/to your lower pallet/to the left inside cheek/to the right inside cheek. Keep slowly moving the chocolate with your tongue as it fondues and melts in your mouth. It’s best if you don’t have to talk… Just enjoy the sensation of the treat.
When the square is gone, you will have a residue of chocolate all inside your mouth. To also enjoy rolling your tongue around in.
And there you go!! Dark chocolate, French style!! RHOTO enjoys a square every evening—in bed. It’s such a satisfying experience with only that one, luscious piece.
Now, Tom, you know “the rest of the story”!! When you receive your parcel, enjoy trying the five (5), different companies of chocolate. Let us know which one (1) you like the best, OK? See if you, too, are satisfied with one, lovely morsel a day.
As they say, “One good deed deserves another.” Thank you, again for your kindness…

Mmmm, dark chocolate.... I think I can almost taste it just thinking about it. :)
Okay, Rhonda. That is very interesting on the three bites. That's all one really needs anyway. My Econ I professor in college explained it as the Law of Diminishing Returns and used chocolate chip cookies as an example. The first bite is incredible. You HAVE to have a second bite. The third bite provides maximum satisfaction (thus, according to your story--relish that third bite and savor it!). Anything after that has diminishing satisfaction. So, essentially, we only need those three bites of chocolate and no more :) .
Oh, I forgot to mention. My favorite dark chocolate is Scharffenberger. Made in California I believe. My favorite milk chocolate is from Vermont Nut Free. They're dark chocolate is pretty darn good too.
