Prayer Bead Workshop - MFC

RHOTO attended the Prayer Bead Workshop at Multi-Faith Chaplaincy (Concordia University) this afternoon.  SEW (thread) fun!!  Made a "necklace" and three (3) wrist-sized creations.   Lots of colours and shapes of beads to choose from.  Thick "string" to--string! ;)  Not always easy.
A facilitator talked to the group about how beads are used in many religions.  They are also appreciated as beautiful accessories, in themselves. The conversation was lively and free-flowing.  AMAZING to have many faiths represented around a common craft table.  Ba-hi, Buddhist, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Orthodox Catholic, Protestant.  When RHOTO were growing up, there was NO inter-action allowed/possible amongst people of other faiths.  Almost a "smellable" fear that we would convert to "the other side"...  So, "go play in your OWN sandbox" was THE RULE of the day.
We missed a lot back then...  But, we're making up for it now ;)

What a nice perspective on societal change, Rho! Sounds like a lovely and productive day :)
